The Danish-Swedish Farmdog, or DSF, is a small breed that has been used for many years as a working dog, serving their people, farms, farm animals, guard dogs, and even hunters. They do need a lot of exercise and a good authority-figure to follow. This dog was bred to work and will be happiest with some type of job to do or playing one-on-one with their humans. Since DSFs love chasing game, make sure to keep them on a leash when they're relaxing in an unfenced area. These dogs also love to swim and play in the snow, so outdoor time will guarantee a contented canine. When socialized young, they will happily share their home with other animals.

Coat & Grooming

The Danish-Swedish Farmdog is often mistaken for a Jack Russell or Fox Terrier, due to their very similar colorings. They have small mainly white bodies with large patches of black or brown coloring and short, thick fur.. Their faces are usually black or brown but may also have colors that include some coloring of chocolate brown, black, red, or tri-color. Their coats are short, smooth, and thick and need occasional brushing to remove dead hairs.
