Exercise & Activity

It can be hard to keep up with a Hungarian Greyhound. To give yourself a boost, hop on a bicycle and have them run alongside you on a long leash. These dogs need to stretch their legs on a daily basis, so be sure to give them at least two hours of intense exercise per day - preferably something running-related.

Hungarian Greyhounds are loyal companions and can be protective of their family. They may take a minute to warm up to strangers and do have some watchdog ability. They are quick both mentally and physically. If their exercise needs are not met, you can quickly have an unhappy – and somewhat destructive – dog on your hands. Hungarian Greyhounds might be high maintenance in the exercise department, but when it comes to grooming, they are a pretty easy bunch. Their short, smooth coat comes in a variety of different colors and sheds very minimally. A light brushing once a week will take care of any dead hairs and keep their coat looking shiny and healthy.
