Teetering on extinction, the Pont-Audemer Spaniel or Epagneul de Pont-Audemer is a rare breed in large part to their unique, quirky personality. The curly-headed class clown is a playful addition to any family and while a big goof, is gentle with kids. Originally bred for retrieving small birds in marshes, the energetic spaniel makes a tactical hunting partner and loves the water. This breed does best in wide-open spaces where they can burn off any extra energy from the day.

Lifestyle & Living Conditions

This hard-working dog makes a great companion to an equally active person. If you enjoy long daily runs and playing in water, you and the Epagneul de Pont-Audemer will get along swimmingly. Needless to say, this breed does not do well in confined spaces or apartment-style living. Outgoing and affectionate, the happy-go-lucky spaniel breed loves the company of friends, family, children, and other animals. Exercise & Activity

Simply put, this hard-working breed requires daily opportunities to run and stretch their legs.
